The most common misconception that Protestants have about Catholicism is that Rome is another Christian denomination. I think that there is evidence to say that given the imperial claims of Rome and the blurred understanding of the gospel, we need a deeper evaluation of Roman Catholicism.
Roman Catholics often misconceived Protestantism in thinking that it is and was a deviation from the mainstream orthodox church. On the contrary, the Protestant Reformation was the recovery of orthodox Christianity, and this needs to be said with gentleness but firmness.
