Who is the true God? There is no more important question to ask and to answer correctly. Salvation comes only by knowing the one true God, and contrary to popular belief, this God is not worshiped by different religions under different names. The only true God is the Holy Trinity, who is one in essence and three in person.
Our study of the systematic theology of Scripture this month begins our study of theology proper, the doctrine of God. Our focus will be on the doctrine of the Trinity and how the one God is eternally Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We will consider how the tripersonal God reveals Himself and acts in history so as to share His life with us in a manner appropriate to creatures.
The doctrine of the Trinity is one of the deepest mysteries of the Christian faith, and it takes much work and engagement with technical concepts to properly formulate this biblical teaching. We will study Scripture with some of the greatest Trinitarian theologians in church history to help us gain a better understanding of this essential doctrine and the concepts integral to it.
These verses parallel the themes of the studies each week. We encourage you to hide them in your heart so that you may not sin against the Lord:
