Judges does not end on a happy note. As we wrap up the book this month, we find the children of Israel fighting among themselves, then seeking to rectify the consequences of their conflict through ethically questionable means. In these final chapters, we clearly see the Israelites doing what is right in their own eyes.

Because this sinful tendency is such a prominent theme in this portion of Scripture, we will pause at midmonth to consider the fallen nature of human beings. Dr. R.C. Sproul’s teaching series A Shattered Image will be our guide.
