The faithfulness of God is displayed triumphantly in this month’s studies in the book of Joshua. The division of Canaan is completed, giving each tribe land to call its own. Then Joshua receives land, the leaders designate cities of refuge as God commanded, and the tribes donate cities for the Levites. When all this work is complete, the author of Joshua pauses to extol God’s faithfulness in fulfilling His promises to the people of Israel, having given them a homeland, rest, and victory over their foes.

Because these gifts of God to His people are similar in many ways to those He has promised to modern-day believers, we will pause in our studies in Joshua at mid-month to consider the Christian doctrines of heaven and hell with the help of two audio series by Dr. R.C. Sproul.
