Several themes will arise as we make our way through Romans 13 and into Romans 14 during November. We will learn how the Christian is to relate to the governing authorities in his life. We will learn more about loving other believers. And we will explore how Christians are to love one another when they have disagreements over things about which the Word of God is silent.

But one idea crops up again and again—conscience. Paul refers to it in his discussion of the Christian’s relationship to government, and he seems to have it in mind in his teaching on loving those with whom we disagree. Therefore, we will pause in the month’s final week to consider what the conscience is and what it does. Dr. R.C. Sproul’s teaching series “Building a Christian Conscience” will be our guide.
